East Sussex Hare & Hounds Enduro - Hailsham

Broad Farm Enduro 2011

This video is from the excellent Broad Farm Enduro held in May 2011. Congratulations to Jackie for organising and managing such a well prepared event, the track was excellent catering for all skill levels and abilities.

The final event for 2011 will be held 11th September. For registration to the event or for further information call Jackie Mitchell on 07714 247540.

See you there!

Previous years account....

Last Saturday myself and Pete set out for a weekend riding the green lanes and byways of East Sussex. After refuelling at the Bowship roundabout a luminous orange arrow caught my eye simply saying 'H/H', i’m not sure why but something told me that it could be a Hare & Hounds, so we followed these arrows to Broad Farm in Hailsham. After a quick search we were about to turn around then I focused on some specs in the distance and we were off like a shot... to our first experience of a Hare & Hounds/Enduro.

We arrived and had a chat with the helpful and friendly marshals and gazed in admiration at a coming together of over 150 like minded individuals all doing what we love - riding dirt bikes! Ive been searching for events like this for sometime but must have been looking in the wrong places.. This event was set up by Eastbourne MXC (AMCA) and we got talking to one of the organisers who was saying that the land owner (Jackie Mitchell) puts a huge amount of effort into keeping this twice yearly event running, we were lucky enough to meet her and even luckier that she very generously offered us a sample lap!

My heart pumping we timidly set off around the track.. Although riding for a number of years now we had always been restricted to the tame, easy and docile byways and greens lanes of the UK. Well, what a difference this was, an excellently prepared track incorporating tight wooded slaloms, trials type sections, open fields and even a motocross track to really let open on.. What more can I say but i’m hooked!!!

I'll definitely be keeping my eyes open for more of these and will be promoting them on the site... In the meantime you can see our feeble attempts below (and quite a minor incident Pete had ;-)
